I've had 2 Waterpiks which failed after 6 months. The Panasonic 1211 is still going strong and I've had it for 18 months - it's different class.
The only negative is that you can only get standard tips whereas Waterpik have a range of specialist tips. However, for reliability and build quality there's no contest!!
