It is recommended to check blood cholesterol concentration on all people who used to smoke, drink too much alcohol and eat fat and are over weight or do not exercise enough.The level of cholesterol in the blood is strictly correlated to the cardiovascular risk.
Values above 5.1 mmol/L (200 mg/dL) are considered high risk. The measuring range is: 3.3 - 10.2 mmol/L (130 – 400 mg/dL).
